Guys and lying seem to be synonymous these days. Gone are the images of guys being gentlemen, valiant and chivalrous, always ready to speak the truth and defend their ladies' honor. Alas, that has been thrown out of the window. Today, men lie like it's their second nature, like breathing. But don't fret. Even if men have seemingly mastered the "art" of lying, they are still human, and they still carelessly give off signs when they lie. Be more aware of these signs, especially when your instinct also tells you that something is not right:
Changes in temperature can tell a story.
When your man tells you something suspicious, hold his hand in an assuring way, making him feel that you believe him. But feel his palms. Sweaty palms or palms that suddenly turn cold are signs of nervousness, which may be signs that he is lying.
His body language may also tell you something.
Fidgety or jittery moves are sure signs that something is wrong. If he is not lying, something might still be bothering him, so be alert.
Changes in his speech patterns may indicate something.
People often stray from normal speech when they are lying. Long pauses, awkward phrasing or erratic speech speeds can be an indication of untruths springing out of your man's mouth. When his vocal pitch gets weirdly higher or lower, then something may really be brewing.
Be more inquisitive than normal. Don't go full-fledged Spanish Inquisition member, but try to butt in some questions that will require him to answer in specifics. Liars usually do not take effort in establishing specific details and often resort to vague terms. Moreover, ask these questions again a few hours later or the next day. Made-up details are usually forgotten within a few hours.
