Here is a familiar scenario: A girl gets drunk and goes home with a guy she just met at a club. With gratitude, you have to make each other feel valued. That could be done both in words and action. Taking your partner for granted and assuming things on his behalf is lethal to a relationship. Assuming should also be avoided when appreciating your partner. Just because you've thought about how thankful you are that you are with him, don't assume that he knows that. Learn to vocalize your feelings. After all, a one-night stand can turn into a relationship, but as in all other relationships, effort must be exerted.
